Josef Schulz: Sign Out

Josef Schulz’s latest exhibition at Galerie Heinz-Martin Weigand, is the arresting culmination of a series of photographs taken along the highways and byways of America.
The Polish artist digitally manipulates his images, meticulously stripping American signs of all purpose or identity.

Sony Recycle Project: Jeans

Ever wonder what happens to the huge Sony advertising banners that hang off the side of the Sony Building in Ginza, Tokyo when they’re finished with them? Me neither, but now I’m interested.

Last September they decided to turn the banners into jeans. Brilliant. Each pair is unique and individually numbered. They were then hung back on the side of the building. Shoppers could browse the collection with binoculars, and then a guy in abseiling gear would climb to retrieve your purchase.

Sony were selling them for Y15,000 (about $A185) a pair. Proceeds were going to restore world landmarks. Other companies should do the same.

New site to look at.

bFilms

B-Films have just launched their new website. Filled with some top work from the directors there, also the intro is well worth a look (The Post Lounge animated it), plus each time you revisit the site you’ll get a different soundtrack, one of which done here too. Great little touch that one!

Sweden’s most expensive record

bubhund

Designed by Martin Kann Design (Sweden)
“The Swedish rock band Bob Hund released their single Fantastiskt (fantastic) as a one copy vinyl record that only allows 30 playings. The record was placed on a turntable with the lyrics etched on the turntable lid. It sold on eBay for US $3,650 and became the most expensive record ever sold in Sweden.”
